With over 80 combined years of experience practicing law, Rocco & Rocco offers legal services for divorce, support, separation, custody, annulments, wills & estates, real estate, and bankruptcy. Additionally, we are a debt relief agency, and we specialize in helping people file for relief under the bankruptcy code. Residential and commercial customers are equally welcome.
Our Areas of Practice
Divorce & Separation
We handle all aspects of uncontested and contested divorce cases, including property rights, custody, child support, and spousal support. Our services include all phases of the process to comprehensively cover everything involved in a divorce. This is also inclusive of pension distributions and orders of protection.
Annulments
While this bears some similarities with divorce cases, annulments involve working with clients who wish to void their marriages - usually done by agreement, with no children or spousal support involved. This process does not usually involve court intervention and can be done quickly.
Estates
We handle all petitions for probate and/or administration of a decedent’s estate. We work with clients to get them appointed by the court, setting them up with an estate tax ID, and distributing funds due to beneficiaries. We also work with clients who wish to contest estate-related issues.
Custody & Visitation
We represent clients in family court with respect to custody and visitation issues, including handling the modification of previous custody or visitation orders or agreements. We also represent clients to enforce said custody arrangements or agreements.
Landlord/Tenant Law
We represent landlords with respect to bringing petitions to evict tenants who have stayed beyond the expiration of their lease or have failed to pay rent. We also represent tenants to help them enforce their rights under their lease, and defend any wrongful evictions.
Wills & Trusts
We handle all phases of clients’ estate planning, including preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare proxies with respect to medical decisions, and living wills with respect to clients’ wishes concerning right to die / quality of life issues. We also do interfamily deed transfers.
Support Proceedings
We represent clients in family court with respect to spousal support and/or child support proceedings. We handle new petitions to get child support and spousal support; work with clients to enforce current orders and collect arrears; and handle modifications to the amount of support clients are due to receive or pay.
Bankruptcy & Debt Relief
We work with clients to file Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy petitions in order to get released from their debt. We also work with clients to file Chapter 13 reorganization petitions to pay debt off over a period of time. Additionally, we file Chapter 7 corporate bankruptcies to dissolve corporations. In some cases, we work with clients to negotiate settlements with their creditors directly.
Real Estate
We represent clients with respect to all transactions involving the purchase and/or sale of real and commercial property. We work with prospective buyers to ensure the contract of sale is fair, guide them through the mortgage process, and review the title report. We then appear at the closing to finalize the transaction. For prospective sellers, we prepare the contract of sale, work with our clients to clear any title issues, obtain mortgage payoff amounts, and appear at the closing to finalize the transaction.
